Episode 11: The Good One (a.k.a. Twin Freaks)

leaves

After taking a week off, the boys return (lacking their fanciful co-host Chris) to talk about a few of last year’s overlooked movies, including Moon, with Sam Rockwell playing two different characters, and Leaves Of Grass, with Edward Norton playing two different characters.  They also try to determine why movies about the Iraqi War seem to do poorly at the box office these days.  Any ideas?  Let us know!

Mike & Danny, A Short Film

Here is a short film that both Raymond and Chris were involved in a few years ago for the annual 48 Hour Film Festival in Atlanta.  Don’t worry - we know, Danny does go “full retard.”

Episode 10: Siegfried & Freud

alice

Recovering from the Academy Awards last weekend and adjusting to both a new recording day and daylight savings time, the boys come back to talk about the box-office powerhouse Alice In Wonderland.  Does its array of captivating characters and its brilliant sense of humor make up for its lack of an interesting plot, or is Tim Burton’s highly anticipated Johnny Depp vehicle just worth seeing for the 3D novelty it’s been so relentlessly marketed for?  They also roundup their Oscar predictions from last week and discuss the outcome of it.

Star Wars Vs. Star Trek

A Reel Colleague In The Spotlight

Upon viewing the new horror flick The Crazies this past weekend, I found myself being caught off guard by seeing a familiar face in the movie: Justin Welborn, an actor that I’ve worked with before here in Atlanta on a few local productions.  Since the new production tax incentives have been taking rise in the state of Georgia, more and more productions have shooting here, so you would think by now I’ve gotten used to seeing fellow actors on screen and fellow crew members in the credits.  Nonetheless, I still feel star-struck every time I see one of us up there.

Some other friends and coworkers of mine that I see regularly in the lights include names such as Matthew Cornwell, Chris Burns, Sherrie Peterson, Stephen Caudill…the list goes on and on, and I definitely won’t be surprised if any of them wind up with a lead role sometime in the near future.  There’s a lot of great talent here in Atlanta, and I can say that from personal experience.  Keep your eye on these guys and gals!

Episode 9: In The Land Of The Blind…

the-crazies

The boys return again with a few fresh and intelligent movie reviews, specifically the new remake of George A. Romero’s horror flick, The Crazies, and Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar contender, The Hurt Locker. Is Timothy Olyphant’s run-of-the-mill George A. Romero remake worth checking out, and is Jeremy Renner’s performance really deserving of all the hype? Also, in an extended portion of the podcast, they go through all of 2009’s Academy Award nominees and make their predictions on who will get what.
